The first phase will feature three primary corridors: Steel Plant Junction to Kommadi (34.40 km), Gurudwara to Old Post Office Junction (5.08 km), and Thatichetlapalem to Chinna Waltair (6.75 km). These routes are designed to provide seamless connectivity to key areas, reducing travel time and boosting economic growth in the region.

A major component of the metro plan is its expansion under phase two, which will include a fourth corridor stretching from Kommadi to Bhogapuram. This extension is strategically linked to the operational timeline of the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport, ensuring better connectivity for air travelers and supporting regional development.

The Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project is expected to address the city’s increasing traffic congestion while offering a sustainable and efficient public transport system. Residents and commuters eagerly await its completion, marking a transformative milestone in Vizag’s urban landscape.
