Washington DC: As the US presidential election approaches this November, Tesla and SpaceX employees appear to lean towards Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, despite Elon Musk’s public support for Republican contender Donald Trump.

Reports from OpenSecrets reveal a major disparity in campaign contributions from employees of these companies. Tesla employees donated $42,824 to Kamala Harris, compared to $24,840 to Donald Trump. SpaceX employees contributed $34,526 to Kamala Harris versus $7,652 to Donald Trump. Similarly, X employees donated $13,213 to Harris while giving less than $500 to Trump. This trend may reflect the strong Democratic presence in California, where many of these employees are based.
Although Elon Musk has expressed full support for Trump, the financial backing from his employees suggests a different preference among them. Trump has promised a key cabinet position to Elon Musk if elected, and Musk has responded positively to this offer.
