Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has issued a stern warning to HYDRAA officials, stating that blindly following the orders of political parties could lead to consequences. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the functioning of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), criticizing it for focusing solely on demolitions while neglecting other responsibilities like disaster management and traffic control.
During the hearing, the Telangana High Court questioned HMDA Commissioner Ranganath and Ameenpur Tahsildar Radha about the recent demolitions in Ameenpur, stating that several violations of procedures had occurred. The court pointed out that demolitions were conducted without proper notices and in violation of a prior stay order.
The Telangana High Court also highlighted that demolitions should not occur on weekends or after sunset, as per previous rulings. The bench warned that the authorities must adhere to legal procedures and respect court orders to avoid further legal action. The next hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2024.
