Hyderabad Cricket Association announced that the offline ticket sales for the third T20 between India and Australia will open from 10 AM today and as a result, thousands of fans thronged the grounds. However, when the ticket sales started, cricket fans pushed each other in the long queues and this resulted in a stampede. Police personnel present on the ground had no other option but to open a lathi charge but they couldn’t control the thousands of people.
Due to the lathi charge, a few people and also the Police personnel got injured. The incident took serious note as a few people turned unconscious and were immediately shifted to the hospitals. The queue which started at the Gymkhana open gate ended up crossing Paradise signals. Fans were left in anger as only a limited number of seats were put for sale and also a limited number of rows.
A fan has shown anger, “How come they sell only Rs. 850 and Rs. 1200 tickets while the others were put on hold?”
Hyderabad Police has decided to take action against Hyderabad Cricket Association for not making necessary arrangements. The notices have been served as well.
