Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has today ordered a judicial inquiry on the alleged irregularities in power purchases from Chattisgarh and the construction of Yadadri and Bhadadri thermal power projects by the previous ruling BRS party.

After the white paper on the state power sector was presented to the assembly Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and BRS MLA G Jagadish Reddy demanded a judicial inquiry in this regard. Revanth Reddy responding immediately said that he is accepting the demand and the judicial inquiry is on.

Revanth Reddy stated that never in the past had the BRS government revealed any facts on the power sector situation in the state assembly. Revanth Reddy alleged that the previous government without any tenders had entered into an agreement with Chattisgarh for the purchase of 1,000 MW and this led to a massive burden of Rs. 1,362 Crores on the government.
