The Jagan government got relief from the Supreme Court. It has been clarified by the apex court that the house plots can be allotted to the poor in Amaravati. The farmers approached the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court in the R-5 zone case. Earlier this case was transferred to the bench which hears capital cases. The Supreme Court gave its verdict after a hearing today i.e., on May 17. While giving the verdict that the house plots can be allocated in the R-5 zone, the Supreme Court has made it clear that the final judgment of the High Court should be adhered to.

Earlier, the Jagan government decided to give plots to 50 thousand poor people in the NTR district. The verdict came in favor of the AP government in the High Court. In this regard, YS Jagan has decided to distribute the plots on the 18th of this month.

At the same time, the farmers of Amaravati approached the Supreme Court against the High Court verdict. The farmers requested the Supreme Court to stay the order of the High Court on the allotment of house land to the people of other areas in the R-5 zone and cancel the state government’s orders.
