Amaravati: Speculation is rife in Andhra Pradesh that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan may soon join the central cabinet, taking a strategic step towards strengthening his political presence. Sources suggest that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is looking to bring Kalyan into the Union Cabinet, further cementing its alliance with the Jana Sena Party ahead of the 2024 elections.

The BJP is said to be keen on leveraging Kalyan’s influence within Andhra Pradesh as part of its broader strategy to weaken the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). With the recent resignation of YSRCP leader Vijayasai Reddy from the Rajya Sabha, the BJP is reportedly planning to send Pawan Kalyan to the Upper House, securing a strategic foothold in the state’s politics.

Additionally, the BJP’s long-term vision aims at increasing its influence in the state by 2029, with plans to contest all 175 assembly seats. As part of this plan, the BJP intends to weaken the YSRCP further by targeting dissatisfied leaders and potential defections. Already, prominent figures such as Visakhapatnam Dairy Chairman Adari Anand Kumar have joined the BJP, signaling the party’s growing foothold.

With these moves, the BJP aims to make significant strides in Andhra Pradesh and emerge as a major force in the state by 2029, aligning itself with key regional parties like Jana Sena.
