Hyderabad: Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is set to rejoin Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after recovering from a side strain that sidelined him since January 2025. The 21-year-old cricketer from Andhra Pradesh successfully cleared all fitness tests, including the yo-yo test, at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, earning clearance from the physios.

Road to Recovery & IPL Comeback
Nitish last played for India in the first T20I against England at Eden Gardens on January 22, though he didn’t get a chance to bat or bowl. While he trained before the second T20I in Chennai, he was ruled out of the rest of the series due to injury.
Sunrisers Hyderabad retained Nitish for ₹6 crore before the IPL 2025 auction, following his impressive 2024 season, where he scored 303 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 143.
Additionally, he made a mark on India’s tour of Australia, notably scoring a gutsy 114 in the Melbourne Test.
SRH’s IPL 2025 Campaign
Nitish will soon join the SRH squad, which kicks off its IPL 2025 journey on March 23 against Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad. His return will strengthen the squad as they aim for a strong start to the season.
