Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu has resigned from YSR Congress Party and MP post as well on Tuesday. Sri Krishna Devarayalu has been unhappy with the ruling party for a few days and there are speculations that he is looking toward the Telugu Desam Party. It will be a major blow for the YSRCP which had already faced a few exits.
Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu contested from Narasaraopet as an MP in the 2019 elections and won with a vote share of around 51 percent. YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy has decided to shuffle his candidates for the upcoming elections and as a part of this, the high command asked Sri Krishna Devarayalu to contest from Guntur instead of Narasaraopet. YS Jagan wanted to field Nagarjuna Yadav, a BC candidate from Narasaraopet.
Sri Krishna Devarayalu was against it and this created some confusion in the constitution. Amid the rumors that he is going to leave the party, MLAs of Macharla, Pedakurapadu, and Narasa Raopet left to meet the MP, Sri Krishna Devarayalu has already announced his resignation. He thanked the constituency people for trusting and supporting him.
