Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to kick off their IPL 2025 campaign on March 24 with a high-voltage clash against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. The team, which has shown promise in previous editions, will look to go the distance this season under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, the most expensive player in IPL auction history at Rs 27 crores.
Fresh Leadership, New Aspirations
Despite making the playoffs in 2022 and 2023, LSG struggled in IPL 2024, finishing seventh in the standings. With Pant taking over as captain, the franchise is eyeing a fresh start and a deeper run in the tournament. The explosive wicketkeeper-batter, returning after a prolonged injury layoff, will have the challenge of leading LSG to their maiden IPL title.
A Packed Schedule for LSG
LSG’s campaign starts with an away fixture against Delhi Capitals on March 24, followed by matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings. Their first home game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow will be against Punjab on April 1. Key clashes include matchups against defending champions Chennai Super Kings on April 14 and a double-header against Mumbai Indians on April 4 and April 27. The league stage will conclude with a home fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 18.
