Bengaluru: Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, along with 17 others, has been booked under the SC/ST Atrocities Act following a complaint by a former professor of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The case was registered after the complainant, Durugappa, alleged caste-based discrimination, intimidation, and wrongful termination from his job.

Durugappa, who belongs to a tribal community, accused Gopalakrishnan and others of orchestrating false cases against him, leading to his dismissal. Based on his complaint, a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act has been filed against the accused.
This legal development has sparked significant attention, as Gopalakrishnan is a well-known figure in India’s tech industry and startup ecosystem. While further investigations are underway, this case highlights ongoing concerns about workplace discrimination and caste-based injustices in reputed institutions.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter. The case is expected to progress in the coming weeks as officials review the evidence and statements from both parties.
