Vamsi, a former MLA from Gannavaram, was arrested by the Patamata police on charges including kidnapping, assault, and SC/ST atrocities. Cases have been filed under IPC Sections 140(1), 308, 351(3), and Redwith 3(5). He was also listed as A71 in the case related to the attack on the TDP office in Gannavaram during the YSRCP regime.

The arrest turned dramatic when police arrived at his apartment early in the morning. Vamsi requested time to change clothes but used the opportunity to call Blue Media and YSRCP leaders. As media crews gathered, he emerged from the apartment, causing tension among the police. Frustrated with the delay tactics, police are now considering filing an additional case against him.
