New Delhi: With just a week left for the Delhi Assembly elections, political parties are in full swing with campaign promises. In an attempt to woo voters, the Congress Party has released its manifesto, offering five major guarantees if voted to power.
The party has pledged a monthly allowance of Rs 2,500 for women and free electricity up to 300 units. Additionally, it has promised free medical treatment worth Rs 25 lakh for Delhi residents.
To attract young voters, Congress has assured a Rs 8,500 monthly stipend for trainees and a one-year apprenticeship in both government and private sectors. The manifesto also includes the establishment of 100 Indira Canteens across Delhi, providing meals for just Rs 5.
Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maken stated that Congress has always fulfilled its promises in states where it governs. The manifesto also includes LPG cylinders at a subsidized rate of Rs 500, along with free ration kits containing sugar, oil, pulses, and tea for eligible families.
Delhi voters will cast their votes on February 5, and results will be announced on February 26. The manifesto, launched by Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav and Jairam Ramesh, focuses on 22 key areas aimed at public welfare.
