Amravati: Tata Group’s Air India is set to establish a pilot training center at Belora Airport, Amravati, with operations expected to commence in July 2025. The training facility, with an intake capacity of 180 pilots, will be the largest in Maharashtra, significantly enhancing the city’s prominence in India’s aviation sector.
The project, spanning 10 acres, will include a dedicated administrative wing and hostel for trainees. The initiative is a collaboration between Maharashtra Airport Development Company and Air India Pilot Training Centre.
Meanwhile, the Central Aviation Ministry is expected to approve passenger flights from Belora Airport, further boosting regional connectivity. The first commercial Amravati-Mumbai flight, operated by a 72-seater aircraft, is likely to commence by March 2025.
With rapid development at Belora Airport, Amravati is emerging as a crucial hub for aviation training and passenger services. Experts believe this initiative will generate employment, attract investments, and boost infrastructure development in the region.
