At least 9 people were killed in the massive fire accident that happened in a chemical godown in an apartment complex in Bazarghat, Nampally today a few hours back. DCP Venkateshwara Rao, Central Zone, Hyderabad has shared the details of the fire mishap.
He stated that car repair work had been going on in the godown of the apartment complex which was located on the ground floor. The sparks spread to the chemical barrel kept in the godown resulting in a massive fire. Many others were injured in the fire accident. Fire tenders rushed to the spot as soon as the information was received and the fire was brought under control after huge efforts. The rescue and cooling operations are underway at the moment.
The news reports came that 21 people were rescued from the spot and out of them 10 people were unconscious due to the black smoke that engulfed the apartment complex. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage has to be ascertained officially. More details were awaited in this regard.
